- Do not sign the document beforehand. You must sign it in front of me.
- The complete document — all pages, with no blank spaces left to fill in.
- All signers present together at the appointment.
- Be signing willingly and understand what you are signing.
What I cannot do
- Give legal advice, prepare documents, or tell you which notarization you need — I am not an attorney.
- Notarize a signature that was not made in front of me, or a document with blanks.
- Certify copies of birth, death or marriage certificates — those come from the issuing office.
